A Day at the Black Culture Market Brixton

www.ucherum.com

I had a fantastic weekend, thanks to my visit at this new Cultural event, the Black Market Showcase, for black entrepreneurs, including emerging and established black businesses,

The carefully selected group of businesses, were chosen from  African and Caribbean descent. Brands shared so many cultural products with traditional heritage, to an excited diverse audience that are loyal followers.

The 'must have' DJ booth, delivered tunes we instantly recognised from the 80's  and 90's with soul, afro-beats, reggae and Jazz. I wondered been transported into a world, a movement that has been strategically removed by gentrification.. is this the new Brixton? Offering affordable spaces, investing in local community is where I was most comfortable.

Premium quality was the order of the day, with finely created celebration cards, world history books, heritage costume jewellery, natural hairoils, men's grooming, skincare products, contemporary art, drinks and eclectic fashion, for everyone.

Wow I spent nearly 4 hours, chatting and taking in the products and history of the vendors!
